This online onboarding course introduces new employees to the Work-Learning-Service (WLS) Program and their role within it. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the program’s purpose, structure, and expectations, along with key policies, processes, and timelines that support student learning and operational success.
The course highlights how student work functions as a learning experience, outlines supervisor responsibilities, and explains how WLS aligns with the college’s educational mission and student development goals. Through short modules and practical examples, employees will learn how to engage effectively with student workers, navigate core systems and procedures, and access support from the central WLS team.
By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to contribute confidently to the Work-Learning-Service environment and to support students in meaningful, educationally rich work experiences.
