What makes a story survive for centuries? What can
we learn about Chinese culture from its most-told stories? Using the beloved
story of the Monkey King (who was a character from the 16th-century Chinese
masterpiece The Journey to the West)
as a foundational text, this course will engage students with various aspects
of one of the most fascinating countries in the world.
